Galaxy S27 could arrive in January: what’s rumor and what Samsung has confirmed
Rumors talk about an earlier launch to face the base iPhone 18, an S27 Pro between the Plus and the Ultra, and price hikes. Officially, Samsung has said none of it.

A wave of October leaks put the Galaxy S27 back in the headlines. First, the most important fact: Samsung has not confirmed a date, a price or a spec. Everything below comes from leakers and trade outlets, sorted by how much I’d trust it.
Most likely
A January 2027 launch. Leaker Lanzuk, who posts on Korea’s Naver, says Samsung wants to unveil the line in January, possibly slipping to February if parts run short. The reason would be to meet the base iPhone 18, which Apple pushed to early 2027. For reference, the S26 was announced on February 25, 2026, and the S25 on January 22, 2025, so January wouldn’t be unusual.
Plausible, still rumor
- A new model. Alongside the S27, S27 Plus and S27 Ultra, several leaks mention an S27 Pro between the Plus and the Ultra, with the Ultra’s camera module.
- Bigger batteries. The figures going around are 5,700mAh for the Ultra, up from 5,000mAh, and 5,200mAh for the Pro.
- Faster memory. Android Authority reports LPDDR6 RAM and UFS 5.0 storage on the Pro and Ultra.
The worrying part: price
Leaked US pricing starts at $899 for the base model, with increases of up to $200 on some versions. That tracks with the 2026 memory shortage that has pushed up the cost of RAM and storage across the industry.
If you’re shopping for a phone now, look at the S26, which tends to drop around Black Friday, rather than waiting for an S27 that will probably cost more. Early-launch rumors make good headlines; they rarely change what you pay.
